Blast from the Past

I was looking through my old ticket stubs the other day and thought I'd share some of the older vintages. It's kind of scary that some of them are over 20 years old! Most of my early live music experiences were punk shows at small clubs that didn't print actual tickets. What struck me the most looking through these tickets is that I don't remember most of the shows. I guess the drinking and drugs that go hand in hand with concerts killed those very brain cells. I'll post more later. Enjoy!

My oldest stub (senior in high school):
First arena show:

Alice In Chains was a no-show:

Got the setlist too:

Met Eddie Vedder before the show:
Don't remember a thing about this one:
Saw them in 1990 but no stub:
I miss Shannon Hoon:
First of 13 Dead shows:
First Phish show:

Just saw them last week, 17 years later:

Where is your 1st Hips show?

Great question! Don't remember exactly. The Hips rarely print tickets for their shows (in fact, in this day and age of "print at home" tickets, ticket stubs are going the way of dinosaurs). Additionally, many of my tickets (not just the Hips) have only the day and month, not the year, printed on them. My best guess is '96 or '97. I've seen 50+ shows since then in five states and will notch another in Brooklyn, NY at the end of the month.
